This Filtration Group 400 series air filter is rated at MERV 10, has 1" pleats, uses synthetic media laminated to an expanded metal grid, and is intended for use as a filter or pre-filter in HVAC systems. The minimum efficiency reporting value (MERV) 10 rating provides filtration of particles as small as 1 micrometer and the 100 percent synthetic media is moisture resistant and will not promote biological growth. The 1" pleats allow the heavier, more restrictive particles to accumulate at the bottom of the pleat and leave the sides open longer for air flow up to 500 feet per minute (FPM). The die-cut frame resists warping and the synthetic media is bonded to the frame to prevent air by-pass. The media is bonded to a metal grid for operational strength and to maintain the uniformity of pleats. This pleated filter may be used as a pre-filter, extending the life of more expensive high-efficiency filters, and is used in residential, commercial and industrial HVAC applications.
